Albumin fusion is a proprietary, clinically-validated technology that enables the development of improved biopharmaceuticals. Albumin fusion uses Human Serum Albumin (HSA), a naturally occurring blood protein, as a fusion partner for peptide-based pharmaceuticals. Because HSA has a half-life in the human body of more than two weeks, the activity of the resulting drug can be extended.
